Job Description
The Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF) seeks a dynamic and engaged individual to help us advance our mission to lead, strengthen and support Michigan’s community. This part-time role will lead the content development, curation and management of CMF’s website. The Content Specialist will report to the director of communications and work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the organization. CMF’s work focuses on emboldening and equipping Michigan philanthropy in the relentless pursuit of equitable systems and inclusive diversity, fortifying the field through public policy action, fostering the growth of current and future philanthropy leaders and advancing exemplary philanthropic practices and field expertise. Duties of the role:
Lead the content development and curation of CMF’s website with dynamic content, timely updates, accuracy, a focus on cultural competency and accessibility in alignment with CMF’s mission and brand.
Managing all aspects of the CMF Knowledge Center inclusive of curation strategy, website updating, taxonomy, and featured resources on the CMF website.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments on CMF Website curation and proactively seek opportunities for fresh content, resources, etc. with key staff for learning and connection points with CMF members.
Optimize the user experience for visitors to CMF’s website, including the website having a consistent, brand-aligned look and feel, researching best practices related to site search, page structure, site navigation design and search engine optimization.
Regularly review website analytics and prepare insights on the usage of CMF’s website to help inform cross-department strategies.
Based on expertise and capacity there may be other opportunities to engage in department efforts including storytelling, development of visuals and graphics, etc.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in communications or marketing discipline preferred
Minimum three years of relevant work experience
Experience in developing content and designing external facing materials
Experience in the philanthropic sector is preferred, but not required
Technical experience managing a website is preferred, but not required
Physical and Mental Activities and Requirements:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel to perform the duties. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk around to perform the duties. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
The employee may operate any or all of the following: telephone, cellular telephone, copy and fax machine, imaging equipment, computer and printer.
This position may require travel by automobile and airplane.
This position requires the employee to make decisions in a timely manner and anticipate all of the potential ramifications of decisions made.
The employee must be able to read, and interpret documents, understand/follow complex written and oral instructions, be able to express oneself clearly/concisely, perform mathematical functions and handle multiple, concurrent tasks.
This position requires regular and predictable attendance with flexibility to work both in office and remotely.
Location: The ideal candidate for this role will be located within Greater Grand Rapids / West Michigan. This role will is generally remote. Read more about us at:

Salary & Benefits:
The starting pay for this part-time position is $23-25 per hour The total compensation package includes a 403b plan with contribution matching, paid time off and other benefits.
