For over 40 years, our team has provided culturally-specific and industry-leading experience to break communication barriers and guarantee confidential, accurate, and efficient language services for clients all around West Michigan. Our language services are one of the Center's only services with a charge. Revenue generated from this department is then reinvested in the Hispanic Center to support all other operations.

Interpretation

Providing On-Site Consecutive and
Simultaneous Interpretation in addition to Phone and Video Remote Interpretation, our team of highly qualified interpreters are trained in several fields of practice: Legal,
Healthcare, Community, Social Services, Education, Manufacturing, and more!

We count with over 80 languages available for pre-scheduled appointments. 

Over 200 languages are available on OnDemand.

Translations

Available in over 80 languages, our written translations are customized based on each individual project and will satisfy your needs to increase your communication with clients who speak and read in other languages. As a member of MiTiN and ATA, we will ensure that translations are timely, of high quality, and completed by trained professionals. Projects can be completed as soon as 24 hours and in a variety of formats. Dubbing, Transcription, Audio Recording, Video Production, and notarization are also available upon request.

Interested in becoming a Interpreter?

Are you Multilingual? Looking for a Career that will allow you to: Mold yourself into a true Professional, improve your income, and give back to your community?

The Community Interpreter® Training is a ground-breaking 40-hour national certificate program in community interpreting produced by Cross-Cultural Communications. This foundational training course targets the professional needs of community interpreters and bilingual staff who work in Healthcare, Education, and Social/Human Services. The course promotes national ethics and standards of practice for interpreters and can prepare them for national medical interpreter certification.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in both targeted languages
  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Must be 18 or older

Start Date of The Community Interpreter® Training:

Summer Session

  • Starts June 7, 2023 ends July 27, 2023  
  • *Registration Deadline: May 26th
  • The training will be two days a week Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30am-12pm

Fall Session

  • The training will be two days a week Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00pm-8:30pm (Fall session)
  • Starts August 23, 2023 ends October 12th, 2023
  • *Registration Deadline: August 4th
