Program

Comprando Rico y Sano

Under the Comprando Rico y Sano program, the Hispanic Center promotoras de salud (community health workers) conduct charlas (small educational sessions), grocery store tours, and cooking demonstrations to promote health-conscious shopping, smart food choices, and cost-saving strategies.

We also help eligible individuals enroll in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Distribución de alimentos

The Hispanic Center hosts Food Distributions every last Martes of the month from 4-6pm. You could either pick up your food by either a drive-thru style or on foot. There are no requirements on who can get a box of food, all you need to do is show up! If you have any questions please feel free to call us at (616) 472-0200.
